Privacy Policy

Imma & Mario’s Mercato recognises the importance of protecting confidential information and commits to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of any information it collects as part of normal business operations.

This Privacy Policy is written taking into account the 10 National Privacy Principles (NPP) as set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (amended by the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000)

Policy Guidelines

Imma & Mario’s Mercato will:

  • Obtain the owners permission before collecting information and committing it to file
  • Only collect information relative to the business e.g. employee contact details, client information, customer credentials, etc
  • Take all reasonable steps to protect the security of the information that it holds
  • Only use information for the purpose for which it was collected and will neither sell nor otherwise release this private data to third parties without explicit written authorisation from the owner
  • Make the information held on an individual available to the owner upon request
  • Release information if required by law upon verifying an official written request e.g. court demand, taxation office, etc and will inform the owner as soon as possible
  •  Destroy by suitable means, all information no longer required


Where possible, and in most cases, Imma & Mario’s Mercato will collect information directly from individuals, customers and clients. In some instances, information and data may be collected from press reports or published mediums, in which case, it will endeavour to verify such details with the persons concerned before using the information. We are required by law to provide specific information to an individual at the time that the personal information is requested. Information providers must be made aware of the reasons behind the data collection and be told exactly who is collecting it.


If an individual has any concerns regarding the privacy of personal information, then enqurires should be directed to the Managing Director, or other nominated person, who will deal directly with the issue.
